SMD Common Mode Filters With Toroidal (Ring) Core
The SMD common mode line filter has a T core in the middle with dual windings, making it suitable for both data and power lines. This SMD common mode choke utilizes two types of ferrite core, Ni-Zn and Mn-Zn, to achieve different characteristics and suit various applications. The Mn-Zn core can easily achieve a higher inductance/impedance value and is suitable for low-frequency applications, while the Ni-Zn core is suitable for high-frequency applications. Moreover, some applications require high isolation, such as the common mode choke on the power supply system. Power delivery is happening at low frequency, so the sectional winding will be applied. For signal or data lines where isolation is not important but high-speed signals are involved, bifilar winding is used to achieve the lowest attenuation in differential mode. The whole series has an operating temperature range of -40°C to +125°C, an operating voltage of 80VDC, and is suitable for reflow processes. The entire series is RoHs/REACH compliant and halogen-free.
Power line common mode chokes normally provide higher isolation voltages (up to 2000Vrms) and high inductance/impedance values to eliminate EMI and noise suppression. The power line CMC has a high current carrying capacity, making it suitable for power supply circuits, DC/DC or AC/DC.
